Hey Protected Babes,
In honor of Black History Month it's only right to speak about being Black & Beautiful.
"We have to teach, tell, and show BLACK girls that they are beautiful... that there is no standard of beauty, only defining it. And we, BLACK girls, define beauty, too. Our hair, shade, shape, and features are beautiful. We set trends, and the world follows." ~ D.B. Mays
I pray all is well with all of you Protected Babes. To keep the flow and theme from last months emails that were sent out, I feel this February blog will go hand in hand and continue the flow of becoming more of you. We left off last week with discussing "The Importance of your WHY". From the quote above what stood out to me is "That there is no standard of beauty, only defining it". It is up to us to define what beauty means to us and allow the world to follow. Once you're able to identify your why/identity, you will began to start moving with specific intentions. Every action is inspired by intentions. In what we do, should be done with good intent. When we start our day we should start with intentions on how we are going to show up. We should be intentional about who we are. What our purpose/calling is and especially when we pray and what we pray about. Also, in why we're doing what we are doing? Questioning if our intentions are serving a purpose? Whom are we doing it for? Is it for praise? Is it because you want to be seen? Or, is it for the sake of the creator?
Setting intentions holds a great importance because it's based off of our core values that's lead by our actions. Our actions are fueled by motive. Our intentions should be aligned with the creator. Whatever we set our intentions on, should mirror the image of the creator and not for the sake of anyone else including your personal desires. Setting intentions are the initiation, the first step into creating a powerful purposeful life. Your intentions should be rooted in your core values to help express your authentic identity. By doing so you are developing a powerful tool for moving forward and being aligned with your calling. Daily intention setting also allows you to change courses or adjust the path your walking on if that path is fueled more by culture and our peers instead of our creator. As you share your gifts with the world, your intentions should be set in stone. If you ever feel that you are lost in your walk, pray intentionally.
"Pray, meditate, showcase gratitude
and set clear specific intentions over
yourself, your day, your goals, your family
and friends for the rest of your life"

Gaining knowledge and walking boldly into your beauty, will help you to understand who you are outside of the labels that the world want to place on you. Your beauty is beautiful. Your Black is beautiful. You are beautiful. With every step you take always be authentically you. Get focused because I heard this is a season of identifying you and becoming more intentional about you. Your wants, your needs and your non-negotiables. No more playing small, second guessing yourself, or waiting around for others to see the vision that GOD already placed down on the inside of you. It's time. Be Bold. Be Beautiful. Allow the world to follow.
Below are some scriptures that you can meditate on to help you be beautiful, bold and authentically you. Remember the soul purpose, is to help you grow, prosper, expand and to be able to positively help those who are sent to you.
Genesis 1:27
Philippians 4:8
Psalms 139:14
Ecclesiastes 3:11
Proverbs 3:15-18
